DESCRIPTION:

Our Premier flooring is part of the Liberty Floors range, only available here at Leader Floors. This hand-picked selection of gorgeous floors offer an unbeatable quality, giving you a floor you can fall in love with.

Each engineered real wood plank in the pack is constructed with a matt surface, giving it a quality finish, which is sure to capture the attention of your guests. The medium shade real Oak surfaces in each plank feature a natural matt oil finish that provides a simply stunning looking flooring. This unique finish really brings out the best in the timber used to construct this exquisite flooring. These planks have a micro-bevelled edge detail and uses the Tongue & Groove fitting system that can be installed multiple ways, whether it be nailed down, glued or installed as a floating floor. This more traditional method is tried and tested.

This flooring is supplied in 2.89m² packs, with each plank being 14mm thick (with a 3mm wear layer), 190mm wide and it is also supplied in 600-1900mm lengths. As with any planked engineered wood floor, we recommend allowing 48 hours to acclimatise with any installation. This will ensure your floor remains fit for use for the full recommended lifespan which is covered by a 15 year commercial guarantee & 25 year residential guarantee due to the Select (ABC) rating which gives this floor a unique look & feel. ABC grade timber contains a few knots, but much less than natural grade flooring. With some sap and colour variation, this floor will look authentic when fitted.

FAQ
How do I install this flooring?

We recommend that the flooring is installed as a floating floor. This means the floor is not nailed or glued directly to the sub-floor. The flooring can be lead directly onto an underlay, by simply glueing the tongue and groove joints on the boards with standard wood glue.

Do I need to glue the joints?

Yes we recommend that this floor is installed as floating floor, and that a standard wood glue is used to glue the tongue and groove joints.

Can this flooring be used with underfloor heating?

Engineered wood flooring can be used over an underfloor heating system .There are some factors to consider, and we recommend you consult the manufacturer and installer of your heating system also. The thickness of the flooring is important, as the thicker the wood, the more this will restrict the heat coming up from the sub-floor. An adequate underlay should also be used, please check the underlay is suitable for use wit underfloor heating and will allow the heat the pass through.

Finally, The surface temperature of the floor should not exceed 26 degree, and after installation the heating system should be increased in temperature gradually, to allow the flooring the acclimatise to the extra warmth.

How should I store this flooring before it is fitted?

The wood should be acclimatised for 3-5 days before fitting. This can be done by following the guidelines below;

Store the boards in the environment in which they are to be laid. Leave the boards in their boxes, with both the top and bottom end open. Store at least 500mm away from any wall and off the ground, ideally on the pallet that the packs are delivered on.

How does engineered wooden flooring differ to solid wooden flooring? Does solid wooden flooring look better and more real?

Engineered boards are constructed from layers of Hardwood Ply and a final Solid Hardwood wear layer. These are Glued and Fused together in controlled factory conditions to produce a reliable, strong product.

At Leader Floors we only use the strongest backing and the construction of our boards are 8-11 layers of Cross-Ply Hardwood, with a final wearing layer of either 4, 5 or 6mm of Solid Wood.

This produces a very stable board that is both load bearing and structurally sound.

The top layer of an Engineered Board is the same genuine wood that you have in a solid board. The finished look of an Engineered Wood Floor, what you actually see when it is installed, will be identical to that of a solid wood floor.
